The 2023-2040 Master Plan

The Liege Airport Master Plan defines the airport's development strategy for the coming years.

The Master Plan is based on a long-term vision structured around three pillars: investment, diversification, and continuous adaptation to market developments.

A total budget of €500 million has been allocated to modernizing the infrastructure in order to provide high-performance facilities capable of supporting a robust and attractive logistics ecosystem.

Customer diversification is a key lever for ensuring the platform's economic resilience in the face of industry fluctuations.

A strategic transformation of the model

"Our vision is to move from a transit cargo airport model to a provider of multimodal logistics solutions," explains Laurent Jossart, CEO of Liege Airport.

This ambition is being realized through eight strategic pillars:

  1. Becoming a model in environmental matters
  2. Playing an active role in multimodality and becoming a provider of multimodal solutions
  3. Creating and facilitating a cargo community
  4. Facilitate business by offering digital tools and adequate infrastructure to operators
  5. Improving the operational performance of Liege Airport and all operators, particularly handling
  6. Expand the range of services offered at the airport
  7. Develop a second runway using land reserves
  8. Expand the range of air cargo specialties

 

Anticipating structural challenges

The Master Plan addresses the major structural challenges facing the sector:

  • energy constraints,
  • geopolitical uncertainties,
  • constantly changing markets.

The environmental dimension is a priority, with a commitment to decarbonization and logistics solutions aimed at reducing CO₂ emissions.

Technological innovation, including in safety, is also strategic to ensuring performance, reliability, and competitiveness.
